OUR STORY
From Jagannathpur, With Love
Milly Begum is originally from the Sattok area of Jagannathpur, Bangladesh. She moved to the UK in the mid-1990s and built a life here with her family.
From 2006 onwards, Milly and her husband worked in the restaurant industry, with Milly spending many years as a head chef. Over that time she learned everything there is to know about Bengali cooking, and how to get a curry tasting just right, night after night.
At the same time, she was raising three children. However long her days in the kitchen were, she always came home to cook for her own family too.
This blend grew out of those years. Milly wanted a way to bring proper, comforting flavour to the table quickly, without ever cutting corners on taste, whether she was cooking for a full restaurant or for her own children.
That's what's in every pouch. Not a story written for a label, but years of real cooking, made with love.
βUsing this mix powder for 20 years has helped me so much in my work life, and more importantly my home life. Being able to deliver consistent flavours to my husband and three children at home, and my restaurant customers, became accessible by using this spice blend. It's safe to say, it changed my life.β

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Made with a Mother's Care
Most curry powders are made to taste fine on just about anything. Milly wanted more than fine. She needed a blend she trusted enough to feed her own children, even after a full day cooking for other people. That's still the only real test it has to pass: good enough for her own family's table.
-
π©βπ³ Twenty years of practice
Milly spent years adjusting this blend until it was exactly right, first for her own family, long before anyone else ever tasted it.
-
β€οΈ The same comfort, every time
Milly knows exactly how to make a curry taste right, so every pouch gives you that same warm, familiar comfort, without any guesswork.
-
π One real person behind it
This isn't a brand dreamed up by a team. It's Milly's name on the pouch, because it's genuinely her blend.

A rough guide: use 1β2 tablespoons per 500g of meat, fish or vegetables. Add it early with your onions and oil so the spice has time to properly cook through, just the way Milly's always done it in her own kitchen.

WHY WE STARTED THIS
βOver the years of sharing our lives on social media, one question kept coming up: βWhat's in your mixed powder?β Releasing this is our way of giving back to everyone who's supported us, from the restaurant, to Bangladesh & beyond. My mum is so excited to finally share the invisible glue to her consistent, motherly Sylheti cooking.β
